Creating Curriculum for Supplemental Items
Families using ESA funds for homeschooling must submit a curriculum plan outlining subjects, materials, and instructional methods, including supplemental resources like online programs or tutoring.
To save time when creating a curriculum for ordering items for your student, try these steps:
1. Go to ChatGPT and copy & paste the following prompt:
"Create a simple curriculum for one student, [STUDENT NAME], focused on [ITEM or TOPIC], using the fewest words possible. Do not include * or # symbols. The curriculum should have six sections:
- Subject Title: A subject related to learning.
- Scope/Overview: A brief description of what the class will cover.
- Sequence/Method of Teaching:*A bulleted list of lessons or steps, written concisely and clearly.
- Materials Needed: A list of required materials and how they will be used.
-Comments: Include the statement, '[STUDENT NAME] is participating in an educational program within our home environment, and this curriculum is parent-prepared.'"
2. Review the generated curriculum to ensure it aligns with your child’s needs and is age-appropriate. If you’re not satisfied, type "regenerate" to get a revised version.
3. Use the provided editable template to input the finalized curriculum. Once completed, save the document as a PDF and submit to ESA with the order.
